Targeted Dopaminergic Modulation
Cogmotiv’s technology is based on selective modulation of the dopamine system to support brain circuits involved in motivation, reward processing and cognitive engagement.
Our lead compound, CM01, is a differentiated small‑molecule dopamine transporter inhibitor designed to enhance dopaminergic signalling in a controlled and targeted way.
Dopamine acts as a key neuromodulator across fronto striatal and prefrontal circuits that govern motivation, reward processing, action initiation, attention, and executive function. Dopaminergic signalling declines substantially with aging, and this vulnerability appears amplified in dementia, linking apathy, reduced cognitive engagement, and functional deterioration.
CM01 stands apart from conventional psychostimulants through its unique binding mode, high selectivity for DAT, reduced off target liability and more balanced modulation of dopamine signalling. Rather than driving rapid, non-selective stimulation, CM01 aims to support dopaminergic tone in a steadier and more physiologically controlled way.
CM01 is entering the IND-/CTA-enabling phase, supported by a strong preclinical R&D package and secured core patent protection, positioning the program for continued development and a well-defined transition toward first-in-human studies.
